Hyperglycaemia Related Journals
Hyperglycaemia means that too much glucose circulates in the blood and that means the person has
diabetes when it is persistently high. Most people with type 1 or type 2
diabetes have hyperglycaemia. It is occasionally 'secondary' to another disease. A measurement of more than 11mmol / L is usually considered to be a diagnosis of
hyperglycaemia when the measurement is taken at any time, or 7mmol / L when the test is done fasting. Consistently elevated blood glucose levels would mean a person has diabetes. Treatment of type 2
diabetes is typically nutritional and oral hypoglycaemic tablets, but some patients also require insulin. Insulin is always required on type 1 diabetes.
