Hearing disorder, deafness or
hearing loss is an incapacity to hear partially or totally. This is caused by several different factors including age, noise, sickness, chemicals and physical damage, but not limited to. A diagnosis is made to assess the severity of hearing loss, and measured in decibels. It can be classed as mild , moderate, moderately severe, severe, or deep. There are a range of steps that can be taken to avoid
hearing loss but it is difficult to reverse or eliminate in certain situations. Numerous recent technical advancements have been made to improve hearing for people with hearing impairments. Many of these developments caused debate in the deaf community, however. Deaf Studies are academic disciplines that study human groups and individuals' deaf social life including anthropology, economics,
geography , history,
political science , psychology, social studies, and sociology.
