 The field is distinguished from geriatrics, which is the division of medicine that concentrates in the treatment of prevailing diseases in older adults. Gerontology includes researchers and professionals in the areas of biology, medicine, nursing, dentistry, social work criminology, traditional and occupational therapy, psychology, economics, sociology, geography, political science, pharmacy, housing, public health, architecture and anthropology. This type of chemical composite when administered causes changes in an organism's physiology or psychology and are typically desperate from food and constituents that provide nutritious support. This chemical substance is typically known as a structure in pharmacology which, when administered via inhalation, injection, smoking, ingestion, absorption via a patch on the skin, or dissolution under the tongue, produces a biological effect in living organism.
