Fish Biology Group Journals List:

Fish biology research includes three main themes: Ecophysiology We identify tolerances and preferences, physiological requirements, which are significant for individual development, behavior and survival. Model species: Cod and round goby. Growth and reproduction We study connections between growth, nutrition, reproduction and environmental factors, including resource allocation, hormonal mechanisms, maturation patterns, and gamete quality. Model species: Cod, herring, eel and sprat. Early life history We center on development, survival, and behavior of early life stages related to species specific biological and physical necessities as well as their contacts with the environment. Model species: Cod and eel. These 3 themes in combination link knowledge about basic necessities and physiological processes to fish welfare, reproduction, growth, and growth of early life history stages. Our model species applied in these studies comprise commercial species, key ecological species and invasive species.
