Autoimmune pancreatitis is difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are like those of pancreatic cancer. However, an accurate diagnosis is extremely important. Steroid trial, Endoscopic core biopsy, Blood tests, Imaging tests are the tests to be conducted to the patient who suffers with autoimmune pancreatitis. A trial of steroid therapy can be performed before going through stent placement and biopsy Multiple organs, such bile ducts, salivary glands, kidneys, and lymph nodes. This disease can involve jaundice which is the most common presenting symptom, but the presentation affects the pancreas and other organs in the body, including the liver and gallbladder. It usually develops in people who are between the ages of 50 and 60 but can occur sooner. Symptoms of Autoimmune Pancreatitis are Stomach pain, Weight loss, Back Pain, Fatigue. It is well known, but less well appreciated, that the term AIP encompasses two very different but uncommon diseases, currently designated type 1, and type 2 AIP. However, this terminology has not really helped distinguish the two diseases. Therefore, we have suggested that AIP without a qualifier or the term lymphoplasmacytic sclerosing pancreatitis be used for type 1 AIP and type 2 AIP be replaced with the term idiopathic duct centric chronic pancreatitis.
