Cropping System Quality Articles
The term cropping system refers to plants, crop sequences, and agricultural techniques used in certain agricultural areas over a period of years. This includes all spatial and temporal aspects of managing agricultural systems. The different types of Cropping Systems are Mono cropping, Crop Rotation, Sequential Cropping, Inter Cropping, Relay Cropping. Cropping systems have been developed to maximize yield. Now there is an urgent need to create a cropping system that takes into account social, economic and
environmental or
environmental problems that arise. Soil and water conservation and maintenance of long-term soil productivity are highly dependent on cultivation systems that affect the level of soil erosion and the dynamics of soil organic matter. While highly degraded areas may require conversion of areas to non-agricultural systems (eg forests, perennial grasses) for their restoration, carefully selected and well-managed cropping systems can maintain or even increase soil productivity and restore degraded areas by increasing resilience in soil.
