Contamination Impact Factor
In developing countries, adherence to the drinking water quality standards and practices has nearly eliminated diseases such as typhoid fever and cholera. It is therefore very necessary to reveal the
microbial and nutrient status and causes of
pollution in these mushrooming wells that are built in houses as they are highly susceptible to contamination from septic tanks by microbials and nutrients. This study investigated the status of domestic wells with
microbial and nutrient quality in the Unguja Urban West Region. The research explicitly assessed levels of coliform and nutrient pollution, sources of
pollution as well as variations in seasonal and spatial contamination in household wells.
