Traditional Chinese medicine has played a key role in the development of the Chinese nation , particularly during the ancient times when modern Western medicine in China was not popular. Although Chinese medicine is still believed and accepted by Chinese people all over the world, it appears that Chinese medicine isn't as state-of-the-art as Western medicine is rapidly developing. Traditional Chinese medicine therefore needs to be modernized to fit the demands of contemporary social growth.Modernizing traditional Chinese medicine is to make full use of modern science and technology to research, produce, and create healthy, reliable, stable, and controllable modern Chinese medicine items, while advancing the advantages and features of traditional Chinese medicine. New science and technology offer favorable conditions for the realization of the modernisation of traditional Chinese medicine.  To modernize traditional Chinese medicine research, many high-tech and modern research methods have been applied, but it should be noted that not every new technique and approach is appropriate for studying traditional Chinese medicine and modernizing traditional Chinese medicine.
