Child Birth

Childbirth is also called as labour and delivery, is the final stage of pregnancy where one or more babies depart from the uterus by passing through the vagina or by Caesarean section In 2015, there were about 135 million births globally. About 15 million were born before 37 weeks of gestation, while between 3 and 12 percent were born after 42 weeks. In the growing world most pregnancy deliveries occur in hospitals, while in the evolving world most of the births take place at home with the support of a standard birth attendant. The most general way of childbirth is a vaginal delivery. It involves three stages of labour: the contraction and opening of the cervix, descent and birth of the baby, and the delivery of the placenta.
