Cell Signaling Review Articles

Cell signaling is part of any communication process that controls basic cell activity and multicellular activity coordinates. The ability of cells to respond and perceive correctly to their micro-environment is the basis for tissue development, tissue repair, and immunity, as well as normal tissue homeostasis. Errors in signaling interactions and cellular information processing can cause diseases such as auto-vaccination, cancer, and diabetes. By understanding cell signaling, clinicians may be able to treat diseases more effectively, and theoretically researchers may develop artificial tissues. Systems biology examines the basic structure of cell signaling networks and how changes in these networks may affect information transfer and flow.
