Cell Nucleus Online Journals

In cell biology, the nucleus is an organelle that involves a membrane located in eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotes usually have a single nucleus, but some types of cells, such as mammalian red blood cells, have no nuclei, and some others including osteoclasts have many. The cell nucleus contains the entire genome of the cell, except for a small portion of mitochondrial DNA, which is organized as long linear DNA molecules is a complex with a large variation of proteins, such as histones, to procedure chromosomes. The genes within these chromosomes are built in such a way to promote cell function. The nucleus maintains gene integrity and controls cell activity by regulating gene expression - the nucleus is thus the cell's control center.
