Brachial Plexus Journals

The nerve plexus could be a network (plexus) of nerves (formed by the anterior rami of the lower four cervical nerves and 1st spinal nerve (C5, C6, C7, C8, and T1). This complex body part extends from the neural structure, through the cervicoaxillary canal within the neck, over the primary rib, and into the axillary fossa. It provides sensory and efferent  nerve fibers to the chest, shoulder, arm, forearm, and hand.   The nerve plexus is split into 5 roots, 3 trunks, six divisions (three anterior and 3 posterior), 3 cords, and 5 branches. There are 5 "terminal" branches and various alternative "pre-terminal" or "collateral" branches, like the subscapular nerve, the thoracodorsal nerve, and therefore the long spinal nerve, that leave the complex body part at varied points on its length. a typical structure wont to determine a part of the nerve plexus in remains dissections is that the M or W form created by the musculocutaneous nerve, lateral wire, median nerve, medial wire, and nervus.   The 5 roots are the 5 anterior primary rami of the spinal nerves, when they need given off their segmental offer to the muscles of the neck. The nerve plexus emerges at 5 completely different levels; C5, C6, C7, C8, and T1. C5 and C6 merge to ascertain the higher trunk, C7 endlessly forms the center trunk, and C8 and T1 merge to ascertain the lower trunk. Prefixed or postfixed formations in some cases involve C4 or T2, severally. The dorsal shoulder boner nerve comes from the superior trunk and innervates the rhomboid muscles that retract the scapula
