Biopsy Peer Review Journals:

 A biopsy is a sample of tissue taken from the body to examine it closely. A physician should recommend a biopsy when a preliminary examination indicates that a tissue area in the body is abnormal. Doctors may call an area of ​​abnormal tissue as a tumor, lesion,  or mass. These are general words used to emphasize the unknown nature of the tissue. The area of ​​the suspect may be discerned during a physical or internal examination in an imaging test. Biopsies are usually done to look for cancer. But biopsies can help identify many other conditions. A biopsy can be recommended whenever there is an important medical question that the biopsy can help with.
