A leak of luminal contents from a surgical joint is defined as Anastomotic leaks. They are the most significant difficulty to recognize succeeding gastrointestinal surgery. Initial analysis, revival and treatment of an anastomotic leak is important. Postponement leads to protracted contamination of the abdomen or chest by the luminal contents leading to the growth of severe sepsis and development to multi tissue, organ failure and death. It is significant to reminisce that any patient who is not developing as anticipated or who depreciates after surgery should be considered to have an anastomotic leak. The risk factors may be through the patients or surgical procedures such as Medication, Smoking, alcohol consumption, Diabetes Mellitus, Obesity, Emergency surgery, Longer intra-operative time, Peritoneal contamination and Oesophageal-gastric anastomosis respectively.
