Glomus tympanicum, also known as non-chromaffin cell paraganglioma, arises from the neural crest cells. Glomus tympanicum may be a locally invasive, benign tumour of the centre ear related to the Jacobson’s nerve, a branch of nervous glossopharyngeal.
