Water Management Importance

Water management is important as it helps to determine the expectations of future irrigation. Water management is water resources management under the established policies and regulations. Due to droughts and overuse, water, once a plentiful natural resource, is becoming a more valuable commodity. Below are links to posts dealing with water quality issues such as water use optimization. Management of water resources is the activity of planning, developing, distributing, and managing the optimal use of water resources. It is a subset of managing the water cycle. Ideally, water resource management planning takes into account all competing water requirements and seeks to equitably allocate water to meet all uses and requirements. In practice, this is rarely possible as with other resource management. Water is a vital resource for all life on this planet. Just three percent of the water supplies on Earth is fresh and two-thirds of the freshwater is locked up in ice caps and glaciers. Of the remaining one percent, a fifth is in rural, inaccessible areas and most seasonal rainfall can not easily be used in monsoonal deluges and floods. Just about 0.08 percent of all freshwater in the world is actually used by mankind
