A poor start in life can cause poor health, nutrition and inadequate learning, leading to low adult earnings also as social tensions. Therefore, the health and well-being of youngsters and adolescents are essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals Childhood and adolescence are recognized as critical stages of the life-course, during which many behavioral patterns that help to work out current health status and future health outcomes are established. New borns, children and adolescents face different health challenges. Beyond the health burdens of childmortality, neonatal conditions and vaccine-preventable diseases, children face challenges of lack of access to quality services, violence and maltreatment, unhealthy lifestyles, neuropsychiatric disorders, drug and alcoholic abuse , environmental exposures, global climate change and even digital challenges cyber-bullyingand pornography, Internet addiction, among others . Risks to infancy development remain high even in developed countries due to problems with social inequality, poverty, neglect and lack of developmental stimulation and opportunities .Investment in children and adolescents, including the crucial first three years of life, will yield economic and social benefits beyond improved health outcomes, allowing them to grow and become prosperous adults (3,5–7), particularly those targeting poverty, healthsecurity, education and therefore the reduction of inequalities. Action is important across sectors and settings to supportchildren and adolescents to survive thrive and transform.
