Subdural Haemorrhage

Subdural hemorrhage (SDH) (also commonly called a subdural hematoma) may be a collection of blood accumulating within the subdural space, the potential space between the dura and arachnoid mater of the meninges round the brain. SDH can happen in any people, is especially because of head trauma and CT scans are usually sufficient to create the diagnosis. Prognosis varies widely counting on the dimensions and chronicity of the hemorrhage. Subdural hematomas may cause a rise within the pressure inside the skull, which successively can cause compression of and damage to delicate brain tissue. Acute subdural hematomas are often life-threatening. Chronic subdural hematomas have a higher prognosis if properly managed.
