Stem Cell Impact Factor

A stem cell is a cell that has a unique ability to develop into special types of cells in the body. In the future, they may be used to replace cells and tissues that are damaged or lost due to illness. Our bodies are made up of many different cell types. Most cells specialize in performing certain functions, such as red blood cells. Carrying oxygen around our bodies in the blood, but they cannot divide. Stem cells provide new cells to the body as they grow, replacing specialized cells that are damaged or lost. They have two unique features that allow them to do this: they can divide repeatedly to produce new cells. When they divide, they can change to other types of cell that make up the body.
