 The term sexually transmitted disease (STD) refers to a condition that is transmitted from one person to another through sexual contact. You can have sexually transmitted diseases through unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex with someone who has a sexually transmitted disease. STIs can also be referred to as sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This does not mean that sex is the only way to transmit STIs. Depending on certain sexually transmitted diseases, infections can also be transmitted through sharing needles and breastfeeding. It is possible to be infected with a sexually transmitted disease without developing symptoms. However, some sexually transmitted diseases cause obvious symptoms. Common symptoms in men are pain or discomfort during sex or urination, ulcers, lumps or rashes on or around the penis, testicles, anus, buttocks, thighs or mouth, discharge or bleeding from the penis, painful or swollen testicles. Specific symptoms can vary depending on sexually transmitted diseases. In many cases, sexually transmitted diseases do not cause symptoms that can be recognized. When doing so, the most common symptoms in women are pain or discomfort during sex or urination, ulcers, lumps or rashes on or around the vagina, anus, buttocks, thighs or mouth, vaginal discharge or abnormal vaginal bleeding, itching in vagina. or around the vagina.
