Retinoblastoma may be a rare sort of eye cancer that sometimes develops in infancy, typically before the age of 5. This type of cancer develops within the retina, which is that the specialized light-sensitive tissue at the rear of the attention that detects light and color.In children with retinoblastoma, the disease often affects just one eye. However, one out of three children with retinoblastomadevelops cancer in both eyes. The foremost common first sign of retinoblastoma may be a visible whiteness within the pupil called "cat's eye reflex" or leukocoria. This unusual whiteness is especially noticeable in dim light or in photographs crazy a flash. Other signs and symptoms of retinoblastoma include crossed eyes or eyes that don't point within the same direction (strabismus), which may cause squinting; a change within the color of the coloured a part of the attention (iris); redness, soreness, or swelling of the eyelids; and blindness or poor vision within the affected eye or eyes.
