Public Health Journals

Public health is the science which protects and improves the health of individuals and their communities. This work is accomplished by raising awareness, researching prevention of illness and injury, and identifying, preventing and trying to respond to infectious diseases. Public health is concerned with ensuring the health and safety of entire population. This population may be as limited as a local neighbourhood, or as large as a whole world country or area. Public health practitioners seek to avoid issues from occurring or worsening by developing training campaigns, proposing strategies, providing care, and performing research — as compared to healthcare professionals such as physicians and nurses, who concentrate mainly on treating patients when they are ill or injured.
