It has improved access to safe
abortion procedures for the advent of medical
abortion .It involve either administering mifepristone followed by misoprostol or a misoprostolâ€only regimen during Medical
abortion procedures. The
drugs are commonly administered within the presence of clinicians, which is understood as providerâ€administered medical abortion.
Drugs are administered by the lady herself without the supervision of a healthcare provider during a minimum of one stage of the drug protocol In selfâ€administered medical abortion, . In settings where there's a shortage of healthcare providers, selfâ€administration may reduce the burden on the
health system. It is important to know whether women can safely and effectively terminate their own pregnancies when having access to accurate and adequate information, highâ€quality drugs, and facilityâ€based care in case of complications. The responsiveness of
health professionals to patients within the provision of
abortion services is important to influencing patients’ perceptions and expectations regarding the standard of medical aid to be received and their general satisfaction. This, in turn, determines if patients will revisit a specific clinic to access
abortion services. In this study, we examine the responsiveness of
health professionals in providing postabortion care at a regional level clinic in Ghana Methods. Qualitative data collected from 20 female patients who assessed
abortion services at a regional level clinic in Ghana were used.
