Oceanography Journals

Oceanography is the study of the ocean's physical, chemical , and biological characteristics, including the ancient history of the ocean, its present condition and its future. Oceanography uses electrical conductivity and temperature to calculate salinity in practical salinity units (psu), providing a good indication of dissolved salt. Oceanography and climate science have shown that the ocean is a highly complex environment, and that in the coming decades and centuries ocean climate will change drastically. Although conventional strategies in marine conservation and natural resource management have tended to generally ignore these changes, recent theoretical and practical advances show that both conservation and fisheries management can often be more successful when considering ocean dynamics. Oceanography has historically been divided into four distinct but connected branches: physical oceanography, chemical oceanography, naval geology, and marine ecology.
