Mycobacterium Bovis Epidemiology

Tuberculosis in humans and other animals is caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. Highly pathogenic bacteria namely mycobacterium bovis(M bovis) and mycobacterium tuberculosis (M tuberculosis) are the particular bacteria which infect humans and animals. There have been various studies in different countries in the effects of the bacteria in humans and animals. Particular research involves the transmission dynamics and the control challenges of TB in humans and animals. Herd size, breed and husbandry system are important factors in the epidemiology of bovine tuberculosis.Research finding reveal that threr are different strains of the bacteria but the one particular strain SB1176 is the major cause of the disease in domestic animals.
