Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Review Articles
Musculoskeletal
Physiotherapy may be a specialized area of
physiotherapy treating injuries and conditions which affect the muscles, joints, and soft tissues. Injuries which can be treated by
musculoskeletal physiotherapy can include: • Ligament sprains. • Muscle strains.
Musculoskeletal pain is best treated by treating its cause. This will vary counting on whether you're experiencing bone, muscle, ligament, tendon, or joint pain, or another quite
musculoskeletal pain. For patients with fibromyalgia, medications to extend the body's levels of
serotonin and norepinephrine (neurotransmitters that modulate sleep, pain, and system function) are often prescribed in low doses. Pain relievers could also be used during treatment for any sort of
musculoskeletal pain. Your doctor may recommend analgesics such as acetaminophen, NSAIDs, or if the pain is severe, opioids. The benefits of
physiotherapy have been known decades. What most people are not aware of is that this treatment comes in different forms. Geriatric, pediatric, and orthopedic
physiotherapy are just a few to mention. Each addresses specific conditions and involves different treatment methods. All types of
physiotherapy involve exercise. Depending on your needs, the therapist can also recommend joint mobilization, massage, traction, taping, or TENS. The end goal is to improve your
health and quality of life. This form of treatment appeals to older adults as they go through the
aging process.
