Ketamine Top Open Access Journals
Ketamine is a drug that is mainly used to start and maintain anesthesia. It induces conditions like trance while providing pain relief, sedation, and
memory loss. Other uses which include
sedation in intensive care, treatment of pain and depression. Ketamine can relieve pain and short-term
memory loss. This drug is also being studied and is promising as a treatment for severe depression in difficult cases. It is often preferred as an anesthetic because of the lower chance of respiratory depression, as often happens with opioids. Pharmacologically, ketamine is a non-competitive N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, but at higher doses it can also bind to your receptors and sigma receptors. Ketamine works like a flash mob, temporarily taking over "receptors" of certain chemicals. In some cases and with expert medical care, that can be a good thing. But just skip it, and that's a big problem.
