Inflammation is a mechanism that protects us against foreign infection, such as bacteria and viruses, by white blood cells and by biochemical products. The aim is to remove harmful stimuli, including damaged cells, irritants or pathogens It is the first body-self-protection attempt; the aim is to remove harmful stimuli, including pathogens, irritants or cells, and to initiate a healing process. Their objective is to remove the harmful stimuli. At first, it is helpful, but inflammation can sometimes lead to a further inflammation. The journal impact factor provides a quantitative tool to measure, assess, sort and compare journals of the same type. It represents the total number of citations for recent papers published in journals of science and social sciences over a given year or span and often acts as a proxy for a journal's relative significance in its field.
