Hematopathology Open Access Articles

Hematopathology is a blood research and its disorders that includes numerous subdisciplines, including tissue-forming blood and blood anatomy, coagulation mechanism, and transfusion medicine including stem cell transplantation. Hematologists are specially qualified physicians who look closely at components of the blood, such as blood count, blood and marrow cells. Hematological tests can help diagnose anemia, hemophilia, disorders of blood coagulation and leukemia. Open access to the scientific literature means removing barriers to accessing scholarly work (including price barriers). There are two "open access" parallels: open access articles and self-archiving. Open Access articles are available immediately, freely on their website, a model mostly financed by fees paid by the author (usually through a research grant). Open Access poses practical and political issues for academics, publishers, funders and policy-makers alike, Including what the return on investment is when charging an article processing fee to be published in Open Access journals, or if investments should be made in institutional databases, and if self-archiving should be made compulsory, as some funders envisage.
