Fungal Studies Scholarly Journal

Mycology is the biological branch concerned with the study of fungi, including the genetic, biochemical properties and their taxonomy and human use as a source of tinder, herbal medicine as well as their hazards such as toxicity or infection. Fungal studies help in understanding melanized fungal diseases include mycetoma, chromoblastomycosis, and phaeohyphomycosis. This broad clinical range depends on the complex interactions between host and etiologic agent. To study the role of the host's immune status in the development of the Fonsecaea pedrosoi-induced disease, various mice strains and reconstituted Nude Mice were inoculated with F. Pedrosoi, and both clinically and histopathologically studied. The fungus was grown on agar gel, and a fragment of this gel was subcutaneously injected in the abdominal area.
