Colon Cancer

The body’s digestive system operates the food and liquids that we consume them for elimination from the body as waste. The large intestine, or colon, is segment of the digestive system, along with the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, rectum, and anus (the opening at the end of the rectum through which wastes passes). Colon cancer is the development of cancer cells in the colon. Colorectal cancer is the second major common cause of cancer death in US. The term colorectal explains this subject that begins at the colon and ends at the anus. Generally, the first or right portion of the colon which is called the ascending colon moves up from the downright portion of the abdomen. The transverse colon or next portion moves across from the right to the left side of the upper abdomen. Next, the third region or plunge colon moves down the left side of your abdomen. Then a sigmoid colon or S shaped portion of the large intestine joins the rest of the colon to the rectum.
