 Cloning is that the process of manufacturing individuals with identical or virtually identical DNA, either naturally or artificially. In nature, many organisms produce clones through reproduction. Cloning in biotechnology refers to the method of making clones of organisms or copies of cells or DNA fragments (molecular cloning).   The term clone, coined by Herbert J. Webber, comes from the traditional Greek word κλÏŽν klōn, "twig", relating the method whereby a replacement plant may be created from a twig. In botany, the term lusus was traditionally used. In horticulture, the spelling clon was used until the 20 th century; the ultimate e came into use to point the vowel may be a "long o" rather than a "short o". Since the term entered the favored lexicon in a very more general context, the spelling clone has been used exclusively. Cloning could be a natural style of reproduction that has allowed life forms to spread for many scores of years. it's the reproduction method employed by plants, fungi, and bacteria, and is additionally the way that clonal colonies reproduce themselves. samples of these organisms include blueberry plants, hazel trees, the Pando trees, the Kentucky coffeetree, Myrica, and also the American sweetgum.
