Cardio-myopathy

Cardiomyopathy is a group of diseases that effect the heart muscle that makes it harder for your heart to pump blood to the rest of your body. Cardiomyopathy can lead to coronary failure. In all cases, the heart can’t adequately pump blood to the tissues and organs of the body. But as the condition advances, it can result in symptoms such as: •       Breathlessness with exertion or even at rest •       Swelling of the legs, ankles, and feet •       Bloating of the abdomen due to fluid buildup •       Cough while lying down •       Fatigue •       Heartbeats that feel rapid, pounding or fluttering •       Chest discomfort or pressure •       Dizziness, lightheadedness and fainting Treatment for cardiomyopathy: Treatment varies counting on how damaged your heart is thanks to cardiomyopathy and therefore the resulting symptoms. Some people might not require treatment until symptoms appear. Others who are beginning to struggle with breathlessness or chest pain may need to make some lifestyle adjustments or take medications. You can’t cure cardiomyopathy, but you can control it with some of the following options: •       heart-healthy lifestyle changes •       medications •       surgically implanted devices, like pacemakers and defibrillators •       surgery •       heart transplant, which is considered a last resort
