 Cardiac tamponade is an acute form of pericardial effusion in which fluid, pus, blood, clots, or gas is present. Cardiac tamponade is the pressure built on the heart by blood or other fluid that accumulates around the pericardium in the space.Accumulation of fluid inside the pericardium area resulting in heart squeezing, decrease of venous return is termed as cardiac tamponade based on pericardial distensibility. Cardiac tamponade, also known as pericardial tamponade, is an acute form of pericardial effusion in which fat, water, blood, clots, or gas.
