Body Mass Index Calculations

Body Mass Index is screening tools that points whether a person is underweight or if they have a healthy weight, excess weight (obesity). If a person’s body mass index is outside of the healthy range, their health risks may increase significantly. Body mass index is a value derived from the weight and height of a person. The Body Mass Index is defined as the body mass divided by the square of the body height, and it is expressed in units of kg/m2, resulting from mass in kilograms and height in meters.
