Asthma And Sleep Impact Factor

As asthma constrains the air passages, it can cause coughing , wheezing and shortness of breath at night, both making it difficult to fall asleep and/or make you wake up in the middle of the night. People with a disorder called as "nocturnal asthma" might find their symptoms get much worse at night. Unfortunately, the relation between asthma and sleep problems runs both ways. Asthma can trigger sleep issues and sleep disorders may also make the symptoms of asthma worse. For example, sleep apnea increases swelling in the bronchial tubes — something which can induce symptoms of asthma.
