  Applied mathematics involves applying mathematics to issues that arise in different areas, such as science , engineering or other diverse fields, and/or developing new or improved methods to meet the challenges of new problems. We view applied math as applying mathematics to real-world problems with the dual objective of explaining observed phenomena and predicting new phenomena that have not yet been observed. Therefore, both the mathematics, e.g. the development of new methods to meet the challenges of new problems, and the real world, are the emphasis. The issues arise from different applications, such as physical and biological sciences, engineering, and social science. Our approaches include understanding of various mathematical fields, such as statistics, differential equations, and stochastics, utilizing empirical and computational methods. The staff leaders and students also much work directly with experimentalists to see the effects of their study come to life. Applied mathematics involves applying mathematics to issues that arise in different areas, such as science , engineering or other diverse fields, and/or developing new or improved methods to meet the challenges of new problems.Applied mathematics is as difficult as learning all of the rules in a particular fashion to state a particular idea. It's no easier than looking up a new term and reviewing the meaning of that phrase. If you can learn new words and use them in daily conversation, you can just as easily learn applied mathematics.
