Autism and Screen Time in Children

Autism is typical type of disorder that manifests itself in infancy and is characterized by "markedly abnormal or impaired development in social interaction and communication and a markedly restricted repertoire of interesting activities," consistent with the Statistical Manual and Diagnostic method of Mental Disorders. Diagnoses of autism have risen dramatically over the past few decades, from an estimated one in 2500 children thirty years ago to at least one in 150 today.
