Whiplash Trauma

 Whiplash may be a relatively common injury that occurs to an individual's neck following a sudden force of acceleration-deceleration that causes unrestrained, fast forward and backward movement of the top and neck, most commonly caused by accidents in motor vehicles. Thanks to the forceful, rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck, whiplash can be a neck injury just like a whip crack.Whiplash is commonly caused by rear-end car accidents. But whiplash also can result from sports accidents, physical abuse and other sorts of traumas, like a fall. Whiplash could also be called a neck sprain or strain, but these terms also include other sorts of neck injuries.Most people with whiplash recover within a couple of weeks by following a treatment plan that has pain medication and exercise. Some people however suffer from chronic neck pain and other long-lasting complications. Some symptoms do exist, • Stiffness and pain in the neck. • Pain with neck movement worsening. • Lack of mobility inside the neck. • Nightmares begin most often from the base of the skull. • Pain or tenderness in the shoulder, upper back or arms. • In-arms tingling or numbing. • Tired. • Heartburn.
