Emergency Department Nurse

Emergency nursing is a specialty in which nurse’s care for patients in the emergency or critical phase of their illness or injury and frequently it is the first point of contact for patients. Emergency nursing involves the episodic care of people with physical and or psychological health problems. These health problems may result from injury which are usually acute, and it requires further, often immediate, investigation or intervention. As with all nursing care, emergency nursing care is provided in a way that is patient centered – that it  is, focused on the individual patient and their unique needs, wants and preferences.
