Chronic Myofascial

  CHRONIC MYOFACIAL can be defined as affects the muscles and the sheath of the tissue that surrounds them . chronic myofacial pain is associated with specific trigger points and can involve a single muscle or group of muscles.it is also called as myofacial pain syndrome.  causes of myofacial pain are mechanical factors such as one leg longer than the other , poor posture ,stress & overuse of muscles , exercise , performing work activities using poor techniques that results in repetitive injuries , anxiety & depression results in mental tension leading to myofacial pain. trigger points may be activated by overwork ,fatigue, direct trauma & cold . medications such as non steroidal anti-inflammatories like acetaminophen or opioids may be used to treat myofacial pain non drug treatments include physical thereapy “stretch & spray therapy “ this involves spraying the muscle and trigger point with a coolant & then slowly stretching the muscle , massage therapy , trigger point injection.
