Acupuncture New Findings High Impact Factor Journals

Acupuncture which involves inserting needles into the body at various locations to stimulate so-called acupoints, is one of the country's most widely practiced forms of alternative medicine and is offered by many hospitals. The treatment is most commonly sought by adults seeking relief from chronic pain, although it is also used in children with increasing frequency. Approximately 150,000 children in the United States underwent acupuncture in 2007, according to state estimates. But questions about its effectiveness have long been commonplace, for all its popularity. High-impact journals are those which are considered highly influential in their fields. Journal impact factor provides a quantitative evaluation method for the ranking, review, selection, and comparison of related papers. It reflects the average number of citations to recent articles published in science and social science journals in a given year or period, and is often used as a proxy for a journal's relative importance within its field.
